A year and a half ago when I carved halloween pumpkins, I said I wanted to try doing some wood carving instead. Here's my first one.
The design is based on the Rosace knots from `Cedarseed's Arabesque made easy, (thanks for the input Joumana!) I don't know what you can call the small designs inside the knots; I just added them because I didn't know how to do anything else. As you can see from the carving, my lines are very rough, and hopefully I'll get better. (Here's a picture of the steps I followed if you're interested: [link]) Now about this one, Size: 65 x 65 cm (~ 26 x 26 in) Tools: compass & marker for drawing, electric drill for carving |

Meanwhile, I'm really digging wood work. I've almost finished a small bibliotheque, and I can't express how awesome it feels building something from scratch!
